Ancient lore says the ylang-ylang flowers were soaked in coconut oil and once the aroma was absorbed, they were used to prevent fever and infectious diseases. With it’s exotic, sweet, sensual, floral aroma, ylang-ylang is known to boost mood and energy, ease depression, anxiety and stress. It can help balance hormones and relieve symptoms of PMS. It can also help with inflammation, oily skin and ease muscle spasms.
Blends well with bergamot, clary sage, lavender, neroli and rose.
Anxiety/Depression: Diffuse. Can also mix 3-4 drops with 1 teaspoon of carrier oil (coconut oil, jojoba oil, etc.) and apply to your temples, neck or wrists.
Balance hormones/ease PMS symptoms: Mix 2-3 drops of Ylang-ylang with 2-3 drops of lavender and apply to back of neck and lower abdomen.
Release negative emotions: Diffuse or inhale from the bottle. Can place 3-4 drops on a cotton ball and inhale the aroma when needed.
