Clary Sage, with it’s wonderful, musky yet sweet and a bit nutty aroma is one of the top essential oils for balancing hormones, especially in women and it is very beneficial for menstrual cramps, heavy menstrual cycles, hot flashes, and hormonal imbalances. With linalyl acetate as the main chemical component, it is one of the most relaxing essential oils, making it helpful for stress, anxiety and depression and insomnia. It can help create a positive outlook and boost creativity. Another benefit from Clary Sage is supporting healthy circulation. It also may also help lower cholesterol with its anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. You can also apply Clary Sage to wounds and skin infections because of its anti-microbial properties.
Blends well with citrus oils, frankincense, geranium, jasmine, lavender, pine and sandalwood.
Circulation: Diffuse or apply 3-4 drops to 1 teaspoon of carrier oil and apply to arms, legs and/or chest.
Insomnia: Diffuse in the room you sleep in.
Menstrual discomfort: Apply topically to your abdomen either with a few drops into your palm or add a few drops to a carrier oil (coconut oil, almond oil, etc.) and apply to affected area. Use 3-4 drops to 1 teaspoon of carrier oil. You could mix a few teaspoons up at one time so you will have it to apply throughout 2 or 3 days.
Muscle aches: Use 5-6 drops to 1 teaspoon of carrier oil (coconut oil, almond oil, etc.) and apply to sore muscles.
